Vision

MRDD will ensure the discoverability of the University Libraries’ collections throughout the world to inspire educational innovation, research, and scholarship.

Mission

To develop and maintain a unified catalog of university library collections that ensures comprehensive, accurate and timely bibliography identification of all items in the collection and an efficient way to access bibliographic or subject-specific records; and organizes theses facilities into subject, reference and special collections according to standard classification systems and local needs.

Objectives

To catalog and classify, abstract, and index print and non-print materials being integrated into the system.

To provide bibliography and reference tools of the metadata collections by creating conceptual citation links between a citing entities and list of metadata collection by degree programs.

To develop tools and provide documents of the curricular programs towards accreditation and meet standards.

To select and acquire print and non-print materials by collaborating with the faculty and administrations.

To evaluate, assess and inventory print and non-print materials by conducting physical inventory of the collections and others.

To ensure that gifted and exchanged materials are integrated seamlessly into the library’s catalog and serve the needs of library uses.

To develop and maintain a database of high-quality machine-readable catalog records representing the holdings of the University Library, which may be generated an online public-access catalog, or any other outputs needed for the identification and retrieval of library materials.

To create a standardized, high-quality metadata digitized materialsm adhering to established cataloging standards such as MARC and others.

Goals

To provides structured information about resources, including details like title, author, date, and subject, which aids in proper documentation and cataloging.

To assist users in evaluating the relevance and quality of resources, helping them make informed decisions about their suitability for specific purposes.

To ensures resources can be easily identified and located within collections, databases, or digital repositories, streamlining the retrieval process.

To be used to include copyright and licensing information, helping protect the intellectual property rights of content creators and owners.

To organize the indexing content, and abstracting making it easier to manage and retrieve information efficiently, especially in large-scale content development project.
