MERCED-I

MERCED-I stands for Mindanao Educational Resources for Curricular Enhancement and Development-Initiatives.

The MERCED-I  is a collection of pdf (portable document file) and other e-books hyperlinked to the various platforms of the UP Mindanao University Library. Sourced from PDF Drive, it is a “free search engine that allows you to search, preview, and download millions of PDF files onto your devices. Its crawlers constantly scan the world wide web to add PDF files to their database. Using PDF Drive’s resources, the UP Mindanao Library is organizing these PDF e-Books based on the University’s curricular offerings, alongside titles for leisurely purposes. The UP Mindanao Library respects the intellectual property rights of PDF Drive and their sources, in accordance with the provisions of the Digital Millennium Copyright Act of 1998, the text of which may be found on the U.S. Copyright Office website. The other e-resources, have been harvested and mined from the internet, most of which are in the open access, open educational resources, and the public domain.  Copyrights of these resources have been pre-guaranteed by their original sources, and the UP Mindanao Library respects the full intellectual ownership of their originators and provenance.  We hope that with these resources, the curricular and extra-curricular needs of our users are also complied with.

Coronaviruses are a large family of viruses which may cause illness in animals or humans. In humans, several coronaviruses are known to cause respiratory infections ranging from the common cold to more severe diseases such as Middle East Respiratory Syndrome (MERS) and Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome (SARS). COVID-19 is the infectious disease caused by the most recently discovered coronavirus. This new virus and disease were unknown before the outbreak began in Wuhan, China, in December 2019. COVID-19 is now a pandemic affecting many countries globally.

The intent of this electronic resource is to inform everyone about the latest pandemic, how one catches the virus, what are its symptoms, and how to treat the symptoms. It is, likewise, the objective of this database to educate everyone towards eliminating this pandemic, not only at the local level, but globally, as well.

Let us all contribute our role and share, to totally eliminate this pandemic.
